About
Andrew Edward is an artist, educator and technologist based in the highlands of Scotland.
Best known for his work for the Steiner Waldorf schools movement, Andrew has worked in the arts education sector since 1996 when he was first employed by Dartington College of Arts as a computer technician and demonstrator.
After working for three years in the studios and the performance technology centre of this highly respected University sector establishment, he was encouraged to develop his academic research. In the spring of 1999 Dartington College of Arts invited him to undertake post-graduate research. This led to the birth of Digitalsymbiosis.
Since that day Andrew has continued to develop the concept of digitalsymbiosis whilst working with the University of Plymouth (tutor and mentor), the Steiner Waldorf Schools Fellowship (consultant), the South Devon Steiner School (upper school teacher) and many other projects and organizations that share his vision for the holistic integration of art and applied digital technology.
In his own words:
I have never considered myself as anything more than a creator of 'things' be they images, sounds or ideas. I view the world as my 'laboratory of experience'
